Tim Holmes has something serious to say about art and society.. fear and the nude. I have spoken to him and am impressed with his work with the nude/body – I relate it a lot to mine.
“Everybody around the world… can find something sacred about their own flesh”
Tim – impressive – In Brazil where semi or almost full nudity takes the streets for Carnival, life drawing is waning, fewer institutions are prepared to risk hosting or exhibiting. I am beginning to feel like a dying breed – an artist who (Oh how quaint) wants to draw real live nude people because they are beautiful and sacred.
Yes – you are on to something that deserves much more discussion. It address directly what I am working with, and larger issues you have raised.
