Edie and I went to hang out on the Ponte Vecchio on Sunday. The PV is that old medieval bridge (1345) across the river Arno with all the shops on it. You might know that my dad built the “Vasari Corridor” along the PV back in 1564 (I was 22) so we could get from the Palazzo Vecchio to the Palazzo Pitti without getting, you know, assassinated.
Anyway, there was nothing ducal about Sunday’s excursion. It was just 2 dead girls out for a stroll and hanging out with tourists. There was one of those sketch artists on the Ponte Vecchio Sunday, but this one was a little bit different. Instead of those banal caricatures that most of them do of you, this one was more of a cubist sketch artist. At €15 we couldn’t resist having her draw us. What fun!
Do we have sketch artists at Medici University? We really should collect a folio of drawings of each other!
