Hi guys! Hope everyone’s been happy, healthy & creative. I’m working on a proposal for a new LEA project… details coming soon! 😀
Whatcha all been up to?
There are two parties at Low-Fi and Edie’s Farm the weekend of September 12, in honor of the work people have been doing, are doing, or just want to try to pull off on the spot. This is a semi-casual gathering for SL artists, performers, and friends to enjoy our dreams and process. Please bring a finished or in-process work to show or discuss. If you have an installation at Low-Fi or The Farm you can “show” that. This is a low pressure but hopefully interesting forum for all interested.

If you plan on attending and need anything special, please leave a comment below or contact Newton (lex.perdide) or RMarie Beedit (rmarie.beedit)
Thanks Newton. It hope to attend the Sunday morning one.
Most excellent Neeva. Also be advised that if you want to show an installation at The Farm that can be a “performance” too.
I would like a five piece orchestra to accompany me while I juggle and do a rope trick.
can do Veyot, can do.
I’m putting out feelers for rescheduling the Low-Fi weekly gathering for Saturday 9/5 at 9am rather than Sunday9/6 at 9am. It is a 3 day weekend in some places in the northwestern hemisphere and my typist is whining about keeping Sunday open.
Saturday would be okay with me. Either one will do.
Very well! I wil send an announcement posthaste.
On Sunday 8/31 Glori Maertens did a comprehensive walkthrough on the tools, inspiration, and challenges in creating a dance performance. She did most of the presentation in voice and her notes are included below.
There were over 20 attendees at this seminar, from both Low Fidelity and the Guerilla Burlesque troupe. Read more here.
And thanks to Veyot for the photos: https://www.flickr.com/photos/veyot_secondlife/
Excellent class! Thanks to Glori, Guerilla Burlesque and Newton.
VB Friend and Guerilla Burlesque dancer Glori Maertens will  perform and conduct a seminar at Low-Fi tomorrow morning, Sunday 8/30 at 9am SLT. If you’re interested in SL performance or any associated aspects (concept, dance execution, set design, particles, camera control, story, recording, other) please join us!
For this week’s Low-Fi gathering, Video Producer Veyot led a videography excursion to LEA19 – Livio Korobase’s “The Egg.” Here are Veyot’s production notes and the video from that trip. Wonderful collaboration, all!Â

Great class meeting!
Hello, On Friday 8/14 Guerilla Burlesque is performing at 7pm SLT and 12am SLT. Anyone interested in seeing this wonderful dance troupe perform live should try to get there by 6pm or 11pm in order to get a seat at this VERY busy show. Glori Maertens and Aubreya Joszpe are working on some seminars at The Farm sometime during our residency, status pending.

About Edie’s Farm
The first formal project-focussed gathering will be on Sunday, August 9th. Please contact me or RMarie Beedit with questions. Â All the best, Newton
Super exciting Newton! Good luck!!
For anyone interested in planning on summer session, I’ve been talking to peeps on Slack:
https://vbco.slack.com
I think you’re probably all signed up there already, but if anyone needs access, just LMK and I’ll invite you.
I’ve mostly been answering questions in Slack Direct Message… but I’ll set up Channels for our 4 Art Farm Summer “Lands”: Low Fidelity, Babel infocalypse, MUGA & Ward 81.
Hi guys! I’ve heard some of you have been wondering about my LEA Round 9 “Art Farm Co-op” proposal. The LEA has not announced the recipients yet. They should be doing so very soon.
Here’s what I proposed:
Thanks, Edie. I was curious if you’d heard.
You got it, Edie. Gratz. 😀

Yay! I thought I recognized her name on the list!
Thanks Myra & Paypabak! I’ll be blogging about plans in the next few days!
Hi guys, I’ve submitted an LEA proposal for Round 9:
Wish me luck!
Nice! Good luck, Edie!
I love this proposal! Good luck!
gl, edie. I think the announcement is soon.
Notes from our organizational meetup:

I love Elle and Oona’s proposal as well as some of the others.
I’m not interested in doing a proposal or portfolio of my own but I’d be pleased to help if I can.
I might write a testimonial. I wouldn’t have considered myself an artist of any sort before MU, but now I think I have a little cred.
Great Pearl & Myra! Help is good. It’s really Oona’s idea, I thought it was a good one and offered to help out if I could.
It would be really exciting if a place like MU, where anyone can seriously explore their creativity in an open setting, could become a permanent fixture on some level, similarly to how Chic Aeon’s machinema project has. A rotation of visionaries leading the way really seems like the way to go too. I wish everyone the best in getting these proposals accomplished (and beyond)!
Wooohoo Team continue MU!!
Virtual Public Art 198 organizational meetings today at 10am & 6pm SLT at MU:Maria:14.
• Get your online portfolio in shape!
• Write a proposal for an LEA Land Grant!
Want to see the Medici University adventure continue past 30 June? Here’s your chance! In VPA-198 we’ll create Portfolios & LEA Land Grant Proposals and be ready when the call for “Round 9” LG Proposals comes out!

Hi all, we’ve been given an order by the LEA Artist-in-Residence, Land Grant Committee to cease operations at LEA23 for the next 30 days. Full details here:

Bad Ryan. Oona stamps her foot.
While Bad-Ryan was clearly wrong about MU not needing a naked drawing class, he is right about the campus closing down for 30 days. I know this because April 1 is international Tell The Truth day. Right?
Correct Neeva! Nobody would lie today!
PS: you look fantastic today!
Next door to Kimika Ying’s Sister Planet is Lisa Asynja, Lor Asynja & Maxje Constantine’s Jomsborg which just had its grand opening on Saturday! Meanwhile, here’s me hanging out with the farm animals.
I was forwarded a message from Hugh about helping out with a VR Construction project. (awesome! 🙂
Hugh had heard about a VR Medici University Campus, which Izzy has graciously pushed back to 2015 so that we can focus on creating Edie’s Farm starting on 1 August 2014. The website doesn’t currently have information on the VR Project, but here it is:

I’m applying for an “LEA AIR” or Linden Endowment for the Arts, Artist in Residence Land Grant. If Edie’s Farm is selected as one of their Land Grant Recipients (gosh Ysidora, nobody deserves a compensatory land grant more than you!) then Edie’s Farm will begin on a generous 6.5 hectare plot of virtual land. Much like Warhol’s Factory this will be a collaborative place for experiments and activities. We may put some elements up to make it cozy, but the focus will be less on construction goals and more on inspired activities.
I hope everyone will come visit, participate, and play!
Good luck with the application. Let me know if I can help you. Ysidora and I will participate, no doubt!!
